A Message From Manny Loiacono Jr of Atlanta Piano Tuning by Ear


It is truly my privilege to be an Atlanta Piano Tuner. The community of piano tuners and technicians in the metro Atlanta area is small. Only a few tune pianos by ear, as I do, and even fewer are truly experienced. Piano Tuning BY EAR  is the first step toward being a master piano tuner. NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES! However, a master piano tuner must also have the training and experience necessary to perfect his craft. Your piano is one of the few things you own that can only increase in value. It relieves stress for those who play for pleasure and provides harmonies good for the soul. It gives your children a sense of accomplishment and structure. Protect your investment by taking care of your piano!


Atlanta piano tuning has come a long way since the 1970's. Piano tuners in Atlanta have come and gone. Here we are, 51 years later, still tuning and servicing pianos with pride, in the tradition of Johann Sebastian Bach, the father of the equal temperament and aural piano tuning.

A Message From Manny Loiacono Sr of Atlanta Piano Tuning by Ear

When my wife Phyllis and I first came to Atlanta in 1974, I was fortunate enough to make the acquaintance of Calvin King (a blind piano tuner), who did piano tuning and repair in the metro Atlanta area. Calvin and I had a mutual respect for one another's work. Blind tuners can only tune pianos BY EAR. Their hearing is sharper than a sighted person's hearing; they literally see and hear with their ears. Although I am fortunate to have my sight, I do tune pianos by ear. I not only tune by ear, but have mastered the art of aural (ear) piano tuning. Calvin King used to tell me that when he sat down to tune and service a piano in a customer's home, a piano that he had never seen before, he could tell if it had been tuned electronically. He could hear and feel the difference. Not only was the piano not in tune, but it lacked the soul, the passion, that only an aural (ear) piano tuner can give it. I too can hear and feel the difference. 

I am proud to have passed on my expertise on to my son Manny Jr, and also to our customers, so that when they sit down to play their piano, it will truly sing.
